MBBS in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan, the largest landlocked nation, is rapidly emerging as a popular study destination among international students. With a well-established education system, the country offers a range of study programs to pursue higher education. Each year, the country witnesses more than 50,000 international students enrolling in its top-ranked universities.

If we look at the past, there weren’t any institutions for higher learning in the country 50 years ago. However, the situation has changed drastically now. Higher learning is highly recognized and holds high regard among young people who see it as an opportunity for well-paid jobs, prosperity, and social prestige.

The country has become a hotspot for international students, especially Indians, to pursue higher education in various fields, including MBBS, Management, Geology, and more. The country’s higher education is divided into three different levels.

Firstly, there’s the basic college degree that provides fundamental education and a bachelor’s degree. Then there are specializations and diploma programs in specific areas of the field of interest. And lastly, there’s a master’s degree. The education system of Kazakhstan helps with the systematic development of graduates to help them prepare for a new chapter of life.

Why Study MBBS in Kazakhstan?

While seeking admissions in foreign MBBS universities with education standards similar to Indian colleges, one must consider Kazakhstan. MBBS syllabus in Kazakhstan involves a lot of practical knowledge and hands-on experience in real-life scenarios.

General Information About Kazakhstan

About Kazakhstan

With four times the size of Texas, Kazakhstan is the 9th largest country in the world. Spelt as Kazakstan, it is officially the Republic of Kazakhstan, which lies in the northern region of Central Asia. The country gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 and has seen major developments since then.

The government of Kazakhstan has worked towards bringing many systematic reforms that have brought major improvements to the country. Currently, the country stands on top compared to neighbouring countries, like Austria, Iceland, Japan, and Spain. Over the years, Kazakhstan has earned a reputation for being one of the best hotspots in the world for higher medical studies.

Kazakhstani Tenge (₸)

The official language of the country is Kazakh. The second most spoken language in Kazakhstan is Russia.

The population of Kazakhstan is 1.85 crores (2019).

Security and Safety

Kazakhstan is a safe country for travellers and students alike. It is an incredible destination with a lot to discover. When compared with Eurasia and Russia, Kazakhstan ranks on top in terms of peacefulness. The people of the country are modern, open-minded, and show acceptance towards different cultures and religious practices.

Thousands of Indians are working and studying in the country, making it a home away from home. For making things easy, one must try to learn the local language. The locals appreciate it when someone from outside their country tries to speak their mother tongue. At times, it can also help in avoiding scams.

Kazakhstan has a well-developed transportation system. The country features transport facilities like minibuses, trains, taxis, intercity buses, and car & bike rentals.

Buses are one of the most convenient options to travel in Kazakhstan. They can be a bit slower but a great option if you want to travel how the locals do. Just make sure that you follow up about the schedule before heading out. Also, learn a bit of Russian to communicate with the driver better.

In Almaty, you can find the country’s only metro system. It is a much faster way to travel but a limited resource. The system is being planned for other Kazakh cities as well.

Taxis are another convenient way to travel in the country. They can be a bit expensive but very easy to find. Similar to buses, you may also come across Russian speaking drivers. So, try brushing up your language skills to avoid getting scammed/ripped off.

For an easy commute, just catch a train. It is a preferred means of transportation in the country for both local and regional travel. Trains in Kazakhstan are inexpensive, but they can be a bit time-consuming.

Kazakhs have always been nomads with religious and ethnic tolerance deeply rooted in them. The country is home to 130 ethnic groups and over 17 different religions. The culture of Kazakhstan is a reflection of the nomadic tribes who once roamed the Kazakh steppe. The 19th and 20th centuries saw massive development when the locals started to adopt a sedentary lifestyle. But the art forms and traditions still reflect the nomadic spirit of the country. When in Kazakhstan, one must experience its culture through literature, musical heritage based on folklore, crafts, clothing, and the famous horse games.

Kazakhstan is known for its continental climate. Summers are extremely hot, and winters are freezing cold. In July, the temperature can go well above 30 degrees Celsius, whereas a typical January sees a temperature 10 degrees below the freezing point. The best time to enjoy the country is probably April to June and September to October.
